sd2snes+ Manager privacy policy

The sd2snes+ Manager apps do not collect personal data. Your games and the other files on your SD card never leave your device.
This policy covers the sd2snes+ Manager app for iPhone and iPad, the desktop app and the web Manager at sd2snes.ludufre.com/manager. They organize the microSD card of an sd2snes or FXPAK PRO cartridge.
Files on your card
The app reads and writes the card only on your device, in the folder you pick. Your games and other files are never uploaded anywhere.
What the app sends over the internet
- To identify your games, the app computes a checksum (CRC32) of each game file on your device and sends the checksums to sd2snes.ludufre.com, which answers with the matching cover art, previews, game information, manuals and cheats. A checksum identifies a game, not a person.
- Firmware releases are listed from GitHub (api.github.com), and themes and other downloads come from sd2snes.ludufre.com.
- The app's fonts come from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com).
- Like any web server, these servers see the IP address a request comes from. It is used only to deliver the response and to protect the service from abuse, and is not linked to you or shared.
What the app does not do
- No account, registration or sign-in.
- No analytics, advertising or tracking in the iPhone, iPad and desktop apps.
- No access to your location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
- Nothing is sold or shared with third parties.
The web Manager
The web Manager, the version that runs in the browser, also uses Google Analytics to count visits, with Google signals and ad personalization turned off. It does not identify you, and it receives none of your files or checksums. The iPhone, iPad and desktop apps do not include it.
Data kept on your device
The app keeps your settings and a cache of the games it has already identified, so the next visit is faster. They stay on your device and are removed when you delete the app (or clear the site's data in your browser).
Children
The app collects no data from anyone, children included.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version is published on this page with a new date.
